I’m hurting, I don’t usually post on….

If you look at my workouts and you see numerous days that I haven’t posted it probably because I’m having what they call a flare. That means I’m hurting… legs, knees, feet, hands and wrists, I don’t usually post on those days but my RA doc thinks it would be a good idea to log it so I can look back and compare both the good and bad days and to see how I’ve progressed. Also to get it out of my system by putting it into words, you see, depression does go along with RA and it’s these kind of days that bring it on. I don’t know what’s causing the flares, maybe nothing, just what goes along with it. I am getting a lot better, I mean a few months ago I would have been happy with 2 miles and really happy with 4. But I’ve been able to do 5 and even 6, I have even gotten thoughts into my head of doing this 10 mile race the end of september. we’ll see :( I just don’t really know.
I don’t know if I like to post this stuff as it makes me sad.

GET IN THE LANE! Got in the Lane. Ran 6 miles,It felt Goooooood!

This is my new moto “Get in the Lane!”, whether I’m running down a gravel road, on a track or in city traffic. I visualize my track lane and I follow that path and focus on it, I see the white lines laid out in front of me and I’m in my zone sort of speak.
I decided to push myself to 6 miles as I have gone 5 miles and that distance isn’t going to get easier unles I go farther than that. Also, what have I been thinking? I have been focusing so much on the distance that I totally forgot about the all so important 100 yards dashes that I like to do at the end of a distance run, 10 to be specific. How are my legs ever going to get used to the faster turn over if I don’t do these at the very minimum. Track workout will come later but I have to do these.

So my question to you is….. “Are you in the Lane? if not… “Get in the Lane!”

a much cooler and lower humidity at 84 degrees, I ran much fast and went 5 miles. The run felt good and I was afraid that I was going too fast but no way. I’m in the lane mentally!

Only two miles today, because….

I only went 2 miles today because… we have a cool front coming in over the next few days and we are expecting highs in the 80’s which should feel a lot better so I’m going to take it easy and gear up for a good distance run on thursday or friday.

Humidity is getting old…

Jeez, where are the dog days of summer that I love so much. The rain just keeps on a coming which keeps the humidity up there and makes the runs a lot harder than they should be at this point.
I guess I’ll just stay positive and say when Fall gets here I’ll be burning up the trails in the cool air and low humidity. I went 3 miles and it didn’t feel that good, slow and walked some as well. ugh!

Ran at 10pm, same temp as….

It was the same temperature as the run the day before (90 degrees) in the morning but with no sun and the humidy down a little lower the run felt good, could have gone another mile but didn’t want to push after doing my first 5 miler earlier this week.

Hot & Humid …

Had to get a run in the morning but it was already a hot and humid 90 degrees out, went 3 miles but it felt bad due to the humidy. Least I got a run in.
